Doggy Pumpkin Treat

The fall season is all about pumpkin spice. From our lattes to our candles, everything is turning fall flavored. But what about our doggies? Don't they deserve a little pumpkin spice in their life? We're helping give pups a seasonal snack that's filled with tummy-friendly pumpkin and blood sugar-regulating cinnamon.

These easy treats can be made with common grocery supplies and are the perfect size and consistency to use with the Petcube Bites treat cam. Find out how to get your dog in the seasonal spirit!

1 cup pumpkin
(you can also use one jar of pumpkin/squash baby food, just be sure the pumpkin doesn't have added sugar like pie mix)
1/2 cup rice flour
(or flour of your choice, but rice is gluten free)
Water as needed
1 tablespoon cinnamon
Frozen peas

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Add cinnamon to your pumpkin, and then slowly add flour with the goal of creating a soft dough. You may need to add water depending on the consistency of the dough.

Hand roll the dough into small balls that are about a half inch in width. You can create two different types of pumpkins: round style or flat style.

Pumpking Treats step 2

For round style, just press a pea into the top of the pumpkin ball. For flat cookie style, use a fork to squash the ball and add the lines, then press a frozen pea into the top.

Slightly grease or flour your baking sheet, then bake your pumpkin cookies for 20 minutes and they're ready to serve.
